The Story Continues ….

We set ourselves an ambitious project to build a 5 room local clinic in the Njebwa area of Malawi which was desperately needed and with your help we achieved it. Sarah Mtonga has recently come back from Njebwa and reports that it is a great success. It is already being regularly used for maternity and under-5 check-ups as well as for malaria treatment. The villagers are building a house next to the clinic for a Health Assistant to be at the clinic on a full time basis.
Umoyo also provided an EcoDome (waterless toilet) sited near to the clinic.

Umoyo became aware that there was a desperate shortage of sheets and mosquito nets at Embangweni Hospital Umoyo responded by purchasing and transporting 100 sheets and 150 mosquito nets to the hospital. We have received a letter from the staff at the hospital explaining what a tremendous positive impact this has had.

Austin Mwera (one of a number of students being sponsored by Umoyo through college) has now completed his Diploma in Education and is teaching at a secondary school in Malawi.

Sarah Mtonga on behalf of Umoyo recently presented the Headmaster and teachers at Mkama school with about 400 books for the school library.

The dream of Thandiwe is to be a doctor in Malawi.

Thanks to Umoyo she is now studying at Malumulo College of Health Sciences.
Listen to what she has to say.

Ambitious plans for 2016/2017

There is still much to be done including building more class rooms, teachers housing, providing solar power watch this space.

Thanks for all your help.
